GR

WHAT: A board game in which players man one of four multi-coloured hippos named Henry, Harry, Homer and Happy with retractable jaws as they frantically try to gobble up the most marbles to win.

WHEN:Hungry Hungry Hippos was first developed by US game company Milton Bradley in 1966 and has remained popular ever since.

WHY: For a kid, Hungry Hungry Hippos was one of the more exciting board games on offer. Billed as a "hilarious way to develop your preschooler's hand-eye co-ordination" it was probably more capable of driving parents nuts with all the noise it made.

CHANCE OF REVIVAL: Hungry Hungry Hippos is still around today and is sure to remain a favourite.
